About Luxor
- Luxor stands on the site of ancient Thebes, a major capital of ancient Egypt. Its monuments and necropolis form a UNESCO World Heritage property.
- The Nile divides the visit naturally: Karnak and Luxor Temple are on the East Bank; the royal burial grounds and major mortuary temples are on the West Bank.
- Luxor International Airport, the railway station, hotels and cruise berths make the city a useful base for a longer Nile itinerary.
Tell us whether your hotel is on the East or West Bank. A river crossing changes the road journey. For a Nile cruise, share the ship name and confirmed berth; a ship name alone may not identify the day's pickup point.

Places to visit & things to do
Use these highlights to choose your own visits. Experiences, specialist activities and remote stops can be requested; operation, access and any extras are confirmed for your date.
Karnak Temple Complex
Explore temple courts, pylons, obelisks and the Great Hypostyle Hall. Give this large complex its own visit rather than treating it as a quick photo stop. A licensed guide can be requested to explain its different building phases.
Explore this visitLuxor Temple & the Avenue of Sphinxes
A central East Bank choice that can work well with Karnak. Request a daytime or evening itinerary and check the opening arrangements for your date. The avenue helps connect the stories of these two temple complexes.
Explore this visitValley of the Kings
Choose a West Bank visit focused on royal tombs. The tombs open to visitors and any separately ticketed entries can change. Confirm your preferred tombs before choosing ticket extras; transport does not automatically include admission.
Explore this visitTemple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari
The terraces beneath the limestone cliffs make this a distinctive stop on a West Bank day. Plan the walking and exposed areas around your party's pace, especially when travelling with children or guests who prefer shorter visits.
Explore this visitMedinet Habu & the Colossi of Memnon
Request Medinet Habu for temple architecture and reliefs, with a separate photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon. They can complement a West Bank itinerary, but you choose which stops to keep.
Explore this visitLuxor Museum & the Mummification Museum
Consider a museum visit between outdoor sightseeing sessions. These are separate venues, so name the museum you want when requesting transport and allow time to enjoy the collection rather than rushing both.
A Nile sailing experience
Request a felucca outing or boat arrangement as an optional experience. The vessel, meeting point, duration and inclusions are agreed separately; wind and operating conditions can affect the plan.
Dendera or Abydos beyond Luxor
Treat these as separate excursions outside the city. Dendera may also fit an agreed Hurghada–Luxor transfer; adding Abydos requires a longer programme. Share your priorities so driving and visiting time can be planned realistically.

Ideas for your time in Luxor
A first East Bank day
Start with Karnak, allow a break, then continue to Luxor Temple. Add a museum or the souq only if you want more time out. This is a suggested sequence, not a compulsory package.
A focused West Bank day
Choose the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple, then decide whether Medinet Habu or a Colossi photo stop belongs in your day. Avoid packing every monument into one rushed outing.
Continue to Aswan with temple stops
Turn a hotel change into an optional sightseeing journey via Edfu and Kom Ombo. Select either temple, both, or a direct transfer. Your onward arrival time is planned around the visits you choose.
Your transport. Your optional extras.

Build your transfers →Guides, tickets & experiences
Keep your journey transport-only, or request licensed guiding, admission, meals and experiences separately. They are included only when listed in your selected option or quotation.
Request your own combination →A guide listing is an invitation to request an arrangement, not a guarantee that every activity is instantly available. Published planner prices apply to the selected option; custom requests are quoted before confirmation.
Pickup areas & connections
Luxor Airport, Luxor railway station, East Bank hotels, West Bank stays and agreed Nile-cruise meeting points. Share passenger and luggage numbers before choosing a vehicle. Larger parties can request coordinated minivan, Coaster or bus transport.
Plan a comfortable visit
Start exposed outdoor visits early when practical, bring water and sun protection, and leave room for breaks. For step-free access, tell us which sites matter most before confirming: a suitable vehicle does not make every tomb, path or boat accessible. Sunrise balloon experiences can be requested separately, subject to operator and weather confirmation.
For a quotation, share your date, hotel or exact address, attraction choices, passenger ages, luggage and final drop-off. Add any child-seat, walking or accessibility requirements. We confirm what is possible and itemise any additional arrangements.
